Vijayadashami

Dussehra, also called Vijaya Dashami and Dasara, is a Hindu festival celebrating the triumph of good over evil. It is celebrated on the tenth day of the month of Ashvin (September–October), the seventh month of the Hindu calendar. It symbolizes the victory of Rama, an avatar of Vishnu, over the 10-headed demon king Ravana, who kidnapped Rama’s wife, Sita.
