It is organized in collaboration with the STC (Speed Typing Contest) Team of JCI (Junior International Chamber) Mines and Team TAC (Typo Auto Corrector) to promote speed, accuracy, and well-written information to the public. History of World Typing Day

Typing Day is conceived in Malaysia and falls on January 8 every year. It was first initiated in 2011 with the aim to encourage people to express themselves through written communication. Also, to commemorate the Malaysian Speed Typing Contest 2011, this broke two records in the Malaysian Book of Records (MBR). One was to break the world record for the fastest typist machine and the other was to get the most participation in a typing contest.

World Typing Day was originally conceived by Team TAC (Typo Auto Corrector) consisting of Jay Chong Nicholas Koay Zhen Lin, Edwin Khong Wai Howe, and Yen Jye. Edwin Khong Wai Howe was the winner of the MSC Malaysia-IHL Business Plan Competition (MIBPC) 2010/2011 in the Business Plan Category. Tying Day was introduced to empower people, especially the young generation to type and learn fluent English.
