Victory Day (Bengali: বিজয় দিবস) is one of the national days of Bangladesh celebrated on December 16. It is a national holiday that commemorates the defeat of the Pakistani militaries in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. It reminds the Pakistan Instrument of Surrender, in which the Commander of the Pakistan Forces, General AAK Niazi, surrendered to the Mukti Bahini and its Indian allies.
